Introduction to Marvel Rivals FPS Bug
Over the recent holidays, I dedicated a substantial amount of time to climbing the ranks in Marvel Rivals. My ambitious goal? To reach the diamond league! Initially, I believed my high aspirations stemmed from talent and practice. Little did I know, a troublesome FPS bug was lurking in the shadows, crippling my opponents’ chances of victory.
The Potato PC Dilemma
At first, I shrugged off the claims that players wielding superior PCs inflicted more damage than those struggling at 30 frames per second. I mean, come on—were these just exaggerated tales? Turns out, no. Players reliant on low framerates—fondly referred to as potato PCs—face significant combat limitations. Imagine trying to compete while moving like molasses!
Some Heroes Pay the Price
Research conducted by savvy player Nyin_ unveiled a shocking truth: several heroes are effectively nerfed when their users can barely muster a decent FPS. For example, Venom struggles with wall-running, Magik’s dash is abysmal, Doctor Strange’s lateral movements suffer, and Star-Lord’s damage output drops. Testing confirmed that anything above 60 FPS leaves damage and movement unchanged; however, below that threshold? The differences are palpable but, surprisingly, not catastrophic. Even at 30 FPS, Star-Lord’s damage remains negligible enough to question if those hours of grinding were in vain.
In conclusion, while higher-performance machines remain king in Marvel Rivals, the difference might not determine a match’s outcome—but it sure gives players with potato PCs a run for their money!
