The Talk of the Town: Monster Hunter Wilds
Back in September, Capcom set off some serious chatter when they revealed the PC specifications for Monster Hunter Wilds. Gamers understandably raised their eyebrows at the news that for a smooth experience, the best you could hope for was a mere 60 fps at 1080p on medium settings, even with frame generation switched on. Sure, those specs had many thinking, “Do I need to upgrade my rig just to chase down a colossal monster?”
Improvements on the Horizon
However, fast forward to recent developments, and Capcom is optimistic about some jaw-dropping enhancements. As they confirmed over the weekend via the German-language Monster Hunter Twitter account, they’ve been actively refining game performance. Much to the delight of PC gamers, Capcom revealed, “Performance will be improved in a similar way” as seen on PS5. So, dust off your RTX 2070 super or RTX 4060 just in case!
A Standalone Hardware Benchmark Tool?
What’s the scoop on the hardware benchmark tool, you ask? Originally implying the release of a standalone version, Capcom had to clarify due to a miscommunication. They’re exploring the possibility of a free benchmark tool but can’t yet confirm anything. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions! In the meantime, we’re waiting for the promised performance upgrades to be a reality in the upcoming open beta tests.
As we eagerly await the game’s full release, one can only hope that we’ll witness magnificent visuals, perhaps even a Congalala flaunting its fart weaponry, rendered beautifully on our screens. Here’s to performance enhancements that really make the hunt worth it!
