The Disappointing News for PC Gamers
As fervent fans of the Elden Ring universe, many of us were eagerly anticipating the chance to dive into the network test for its new spinoff, Nightreign. Scheduled for February 2025, this co-op focused adventure promises to be thrilling. However, there’s a snag: the upcoming network test will exclusively cater to those fortunate enough to own a PS5 or Xbox Series console. The shocking lack of PC accessibility has left many gamers feeling a tad betrayed.
Registration Details and Console Exclusivity
On the official Bandai Namco webpage, the announcement is clear: registration for the Nightreign network test opens on January 10, yet the absence of any Steam or Epic badges in sight is hard to overlook. Though the road to the co-op experience in Nightreign seems paved with anticipation, fans on PC are left standing on the sidelines, watching from afar as console players gear up for the test.
A Trend of Console-Only Tests
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the trend: FromSoftware’s prior network tests have had a history of neglecting the PC platform. Dark Souls 2’s network test in 2013 limited players to consoles, and similarly, the tests for Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring followed suit. To add insult to injury, the immersive title Bloodborne also kept its network test exclusive to PS4, leaving many PC players yearning for that same opportunity.
So, as the gaming community prepares for the Nightreign experience, PC fans can only hope that the eventual full release sprinkles some love and consideration in their direction. After all, the tarnished deserve their chance to shine!
