Superlouis64’s controller tracks paint colors and translates them into game actions, offering a unique gameplay experience that challenges traditional methods.
I spent the weekend prototyping a Paintbrush controller for Pictomancer and I finally cracked the code!!
I ended up going with the plan of having the player scan colors of paint and then literally PAINT to use the ability. So much left to build but the prototype is amazing 😭😭 pic.twitter.com/BoRyBD1CG8

The Challenges of a Paintbrush Controller
While the concept of a paintbrush controller adds an exciting layer to gameplay, it comes with significant challenges. The practicality of using an actual paintbrush introduces potential complications, such as managing the physical mess created during intense gaming sessions. Dungeons in FF14 usually last around 15-30 minutes, leading to inevitable splatters and the possibility of mis-inputs from mixed paints. Nonetheless, the creativity and risk involved in this setup highlight Superlouis64’s innovative spirit and dedication to enhancing the gaming landscape.
