An End to a Successful Journey
After a remarkable five-year run on Steam—six, if one includes the year it spent in early access before its official launch—the hit survival game Green Hell is concluding its journey with its forthcoming final update. Known for making a significant impact, Green Hell amassed a dedicated player base over the years and achieved a ‘very positive’ rating from more than 52,000 user reviews on Steam.
A Tribute to Updates and Player Experience
Developer Creepy Jar has rolled out more than 100 game updates and 20 content updates over its lifespan. These updates vastly expanded the game’s mechanics and story, providing players with an immersive and evolving experience. According to the studio, the upcoming final update, set to be released on September 3, will enable players to personalize their in-game environment with new decorations, such as crafting, painting, hanging, storing, and displaying items. “The entire team had so much fun while creating this update,” noted Creepy Jar.
Looking Ahead: New Beginnings
Despite ceasing content updates for Green Hell, Creepy Jar assured fans that support for the game will continue. The studio’s focus is now shifting toward their next ambitious project, a sci-fi open-world exploration game named Starrupture. Influenced by the development journey of Green Hell, Starrupture represents the studio’s evolution. Although a release date for Starrupture has not been set, it is already available for wishlisting on Steam.
The dedicated efforts and creative enthusiasm of the Creepy Jar team have culminated in a fitting conclusion for Green Hell, promising an exciting future with Starrupture. The gaming community eagerly anticipates what lies ahead.
