Path of Exile 2: The Hilarious Hiccups of Strongboxes

Anticipation for Patch Notes

If you’ve been glued to your screen over the holidays playing the early access release of Path of Exile 2, you’re probably on the edge of your seat awaiting significant patch notes. It’s been weeks of silence from Grinding Gear Games, but finally, we are getting snippets of bugfixes that are equally amusing and absurd—almost like a comedic skit.

Strongboxes: A Wretched Reality

Now let’s talk about strongboxes, shall we? These treasured vessels of loot in the first game have morphed in the sequel into, well, less-than-stellar entities. Imagine strongboxes that feel like they’ve been in a bad relationship—slow to open, aromatic in the worst ways, and often come with emotional baggage like monsters that seem to forget how to exist on the map. It’s heart-wrenching to witness.

Patch Notes Delight

In last night’s patch notes, we finally got a glimpse of hope! The developers addressed notorious bugs where rare monsters were pausing the delirium fog indefinitely and modified strongboxes to pause the mist for a whopping 10 seconds instead of a meager 5. That’s a 100% improvement—bring out the confetti! In a fabulous twist of honesty, GGG even pointed out, “further changes to strongboxes will be made in an upcoming patch to make them less terrible.” Isn’t it refreshing when developers acknowledge issues without sugarcoating it?

While we may not have a complete roadmap yet, at least we can chuckle at the quirky journey through the hilarity of bugs. Here’s hoping for more entertaining patch notes in the future!
