Rev-8 Lands in Starfield: A Look at the New Drivable Land Vehicle and Its Modifications

Last week, Bethesda finally provided Starfield players with a long-awaited feature: a drivable land vehicle. The REV-8 is a game-changer for the space RPG, allowing you to add this buggy to your spaceship with a vehicle module. This means the REV-8 will appear right next to you wherever you land, sparing players from the repetitive running, jumping, and jetpacking that characterized previous gameplay.

Community Reactions and Immediate Modding

The introduction of the REV-8 was met with enthusiastic applause from the gaming community. However, in true modder fashion, immediate efforts were undertaken to alter the new vehicle. Among the initial transformations, one standout modification involved replacing the vanilla Starfield buggy with the iconic Warthog from Halo. Specifically, the M12B Force Application Vehicle (FAV), though it must be noted that this mod lacks the traditional mounted chaingun or gauss cannon synonymous with the Warthog.

The Creative World of Vehicle Mods

Not content with just one modification, the modder known as Notsiouxsie has introduced several more exciting vehicle mods compatible with the REV-8. These include the aesthetically pleasing Old Earth ATV mod, which transforms your ride into a shiny blue jeep with chunky tires, providing a unique visual experience across Starfield’s planets. Another noteworthy addition is the Crimson Gang Van mod, which gives your vehicle a retro 1992 Chevy van look.

Star Wars and Other Exciting Mods

For those with a penchant for Star Wars, Notsiouxsie offers a mod that turns the REV-8 into the X-34 Landspeeder, reminiscent of the vehicle Luke Skywalker used on Tatooine. Although this mod playfully places Han Solo and Chewbacca in the front seat instead of Luke and Ben Kenobi, it captures the Star Wars aesthetic brilliantly. There are also other intriguing mods like the STAG N-Forcer from Saints Row, providing varied and exciting experiences for every player.

Conclusion

While some may impatiently await more whimsical mods like a fully-textured Thomas the Tank Engine, the current offerings already significantly enhance the gameplay and terrain exploration in Starfield. The REV-8 and its myriad mods promise to bring both practicality and playful creativity to your interstellar adventures.
