The Countdown to Skyblivion’s Release
After years of dedicated craftsmanship, the TESRenewal modding group is on the cusp of releasing Skyblivion, an ambitious remaster of the beloved game Oblivion within the Skyrim Special Edition environment. Since officially commencing the project over a decade ago, and really ramping things up in 2018, the team has made significant progress. The latest news indicates they are nearly ready to unveil an entirely remastered Elder Scrolls game!
What’s Left to Complete?
The team recently shared that they’re tasked with finalizing the world map. Excitingly, there’s only one region left: the Nibenay region on Cyrodiil’s eastern border. An impressive 93% of Skyblivion’s landscape has already been perfected, and massive swathes are primed for our hero of Kvatch to gallivant through. However, there’s still work to do—only 44% of the map has been navmeshed, which is crucial for helping NPCs navigate this breathtaking world. So while we’re nearly there, the journey isn’t quite over yet!
