My Arch-nemesis: The Bouncing Battle of Odin’s Archive

The Rise of Odin’s Archive

Ah, the joys of modern gaming! Marvel Rivals had a stellar launch with seven maps and just as we thought—it couldn’t get better—season one comes scampering in with three shiny new additions, including Midtown. But with all this choice, why do some players find themselves at odds with the in-game terrain? Enter Odin’s Archive, my least favorite map of the bunch.

What’s Wrong with Odin’s Archive?

“Does Odin’s Archive feel suffocating, or is it just me?” A very valid question posed by an equally frustrated player. Spoiler alert: yes, it feels cramped! With hardly any viable lines of sight and a plethora of obstacles, navigating this map can sometimes feel like trying to traverse a hyperactive playground full of jump pads. Imagine this: you’re on the ground floor, and suddenly you spot Rocket Raccoon zooming around up top thanks to his jetpack. Meanwhile, I’m left contemplating life choices as I attempt to reach the high ground.

The Perils of the Jump Pads

Odin’s Archive boasts two levels. There’s a delightful balcony for those long-range heroes looking to rain chaos from above, while the real action unfolds below at ground level. However, don’t get too comfortable—if you lack mobility abilities, the only ways up are the dreaded jump pads or stairs. And guess what? If someone else beats you to it on a jump pad, it’s just you and your worst enemy—gravity. Who knew my arch-nemesis would come in the form of a bouncy contraption? So, as I navigate the chaotic landscape of Odin’s Archive, I can’t help but curse my uncontrollable bounce pad encounters.
