In the city of Lumière, a mysterious being known as the Paintress awakens once a year. She approaches a large monolith and paints a cursed number on it, causing everyone of that age to turn to smoke and vanish instantly. This grim event spells out a yearly culling, resulting in a continually declining population. To put an end to this tragic cycle, each year a group of courageous operatives embarks on an expedition to find and destroy the Paintress. The upcoming game follows the operatives of Expedition 33, who are the next age group slated for extinction, as they set forth on a high-stakes mission to save their city.
The Creative Vision Behind the Game
When asked how he conceived such a unique plot, Broche revealed his passion for stories that revolve around ventures into the unknown. According to him, the thrill of journeying with an unclear path and an uncertain goal is what inspired him.
