Introduction to The Elder Scrolls: Castles

Bethesda has taken the successful gameplay formula from Fallout Shelter and applied it to its other iconic franchise, The Elder Scrolls. The result is a new game titled The Elder Scrolls: Castles, which was initially soft-launched in January. Today, Bethesda revealed that the game will officially launch globally on September 10 for both iOS and Android platforms.

Gameplay and Features

The Elder Scrolls: Castles allows players to customize their castles from the ground up. This includes adding and expanding rooms, placing decorations, and assigning subjects to workstations to ensure the castle thrives with enough resources. One of the more engaging aspects of the game is the ability to create heroes, equip them with powerful gear, and send them into battles against classic Elder Scrolls enemies. Successfully defeating these enemies will allow players to collect valuable items that contribute to the growth of their kingdoms.

Monetization and Subscriptions

Although the game is free-to-play, it features a variety of in-app purchases, including subscription options, bundles, and additional monetization methods. According to the developers, each day in real life represents an entire year in The Elder Scrolls: Castles, indicating a potentially addictive and time-investing experience.

Pre-Registration and Rewards

Bethesda has opened pre-registration for The Elder Scrolls: Castles on both the App Store and Google Play Store. Players who pre-register can earn milestone rewards if certain registration goals are met. The rewards include:

  • 500,000 pre-registrations: 100 gems, 1x Blessing of Great Destiny
  • 1 million pre-registrations: 1x Legendary Pack, 3x Banner Decorations
  • 2 million pre-registrations: 1x Ulfric Stormcloak (Legendary Subject)

Developer Insights

Along with the release date announcement, Bethesda has published a developer diary video, offering more in-depth details about The Elder Scrolls: Castles. This video serves as a resource for those who have not yet experienced the soft-launch version of the game.

Mark your calendars for September 10 and prepare to build, battle, and thrive in The Elder Scrolls: Castles.
