The gaming community eagerly anticipates the upcoming “Rise Eternal” DLC for Songs of Conquest. While its release date remains undisclosed, developers are actively engaging the player base to determine a fair price for this story-focused expansion. Magnus Alm, CEO of Lavapotion, highlighted the importance of this feedback in a recent Steam blog post, emphasizing the need to “get this right.”

Player Participation in Pricing

To ensure the pricing aligns with player expectations, Lavapotion has launched a poll with four options: $4.99, $5.99, $6.99, and $7.99. This democratic approach allows players to voice their opinions and choose the price they deem appropriate. The poll also details the DLC’s contents, including a new wielder, a four-map campaign, and new map objects and artifacts, focusing on uncovering secrets about the Aerbor.

Community Reception and Feedback

The community feedback is mixed. While some players appreciate the affordability, others express a preference for more substantial expansions at a higher price point. One player stated, “I’d rather pay $20 for a proper expansion than $5-8 for something smaller.” Alm addressed these concerns directly, assuring players that a larger expansion, including two new factions and an extensive campaign, is also in development.

The Future of Songs of Conquest

For those desiring more expansive content, the future looks promising. Apart from the smaller DLCs like Rise Eternal, Songs of Conquest is slated to receive a full expansion titled Bleak East in 2025. This major update will introduce new factions and a single-player campaign, enriching the game world and deepening the lore of Aerbor.
