Stellar Blade’s PC Release Confirmed
Korean developer Shift Up has now seemingly confirmed that Stellar Blade is coming to PC. According to its recent financial report, the studio expects a PC release soon. Stellar Blade, which debuted in April 2024 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, received positive feedback from both critics and players.
Positive Reception and Aggregate Score
Stellar Blade holds an impressive 81 aggregate score on Metacritic. GamesRadar described it as “a solid 20 to 30 hours of fun” with “stylish and satisfying combat” and “gorgeous environments”, despite some minor issues with jank and repetition. The game successfully sold over one million copies within two months of its PS5 release, although sales have steadily declined over time.
Expectations for the PC Release
In its Q2 2024 financial report, Shift Up stated, “To continue the excitement of the ‘Stellar Blade’ IP, we are preparing for its release on PC in the near future, and we expect better results on PC than on consoles.” The studio’s expectation of better results on PC is intriguing, indicating either higher anticipated sales or a revitalized interest in the game.
Future Projects: Project Witches
Shift Up also mentioned their upcoming game, currently known as “Project Witches.” Unlike Stellar Blade, Project Witches might release on both PC and consoles simultaneously. The success of Shift Up’s previous titles like Goddess of Victory: NIKE on mobile and PC has encouraged this cross-platform approach. More details on Project Witches are expected to be disclosed sometime in 2025.
