DT has teamed up with AI startup Perplexity to create the AI Phone, and the results are impressive. An early version showcased by CNET revealed that AI will be deeply integrated into the phone’s core functionalities. With the Perplexity Assistant standing as the main feature, users can expect their device to be an assistive partner in managing daily tasks.
Interaction Made Easy
One fascinating aspect of the AI Phone is its user-friendly interaction methods. A physical pink button summons the assistant, or you can simply tap an icon on the lock screen. The assistant can take voice commands, helping you find the best restaurants, book reservations via OpenTable, or even draft emails—all without switching apps excessively. Operating on Android, this device combines typical smartphone features with advanced AI functionalities, making it truly unique.
Expected to be launched in the second half of the year with a price tag below $1,000, the AI Phone aims to streamline your digital interactions, setting it apart from its peers.
